Skills Practiced

  • Identifying the major modules of the International Space Station and how they connect
  • Exploring how movement works in zero gravity, with drifting, braking, and floating up and down
  • Reading space-flight data such as orbital altitude (408 km), orbital speed (7.66 km/s), and suit oxygen
  • Learning why astronauts use an airlock to leave the station for a spacewalk (EVA)

ISS Voxel Explorer is an immersive 3D educational game that lets players float through a voxel-style recreation of the International Space Station. Beginning inside the Destiny Laboratory, players navigate in zero gravity, explore connected modules, and log visits to ten major areas of the station.

The explorable interior includes Zvezda, Zarya, Unity, Destiny, Harmony, Columbus, Kibo, Quest, Tranquility, and the Cupola. Each module has a distinct layout, orientation, lighting, windows, equipment colors, and structural details. Players move freely with keyboard, mouse, or touch controls while learning how the station’s laboratories, nodes, service modules, and airlock connect.
