Get ready to play Geometry Squared! This fast, arcade-style runner helps kids practice geometry facts and exponents while they jump over spikes and sprint toward question zones. Read the prompt, then collide with the correct answer block to score points and level up. The game saves your progress, unlocks new player colors as your total score grows, and speeds up the challenge as your geometry level increases.
Educator Info
Recommended For
- Grades 3–6 (enrichment)
- Grades 6–8 (practice + review)
Great as a 5–10 minute “math sprint” for early finishers, centers, or warm-ups.
Skills Practiced
- Geometry vocabulary and facts (sides, vertices, angles)
- Area and perimeter of rectangles
- Exponents and powers of 10 (including 10², 10³, 10⁴)
- Attention, timing, and decision-making under pressure
How to Play
- Jump with Space or ↑ (hold to jump higher), or tap/hold on mobile.
- When a question appears, steer into the correct answer block.
- Choose wrong (or miss the question zone) and your run ends.
- Your Geo Level increases as you answer correctly; it drops by 1 after a failed run.
The game slows down during question zones to give students time to read and decide.
Suggested Warm-Up
Before playing, ask a few quick questions aloud:
- How many degrees are in a right angle? A straight angle?
- How many sides/vertices does a hexagon have?
- What is 6²? What is 3³? What is 10³?
Suggested Follow-Up
After a run, have students explain strategy and math thinking:
- What clue helped you answer quickly?
- Did you eliminate wrong answers first or look for the correct one?
- Which question types slow you down (angles, area/perimeter, exponents)?
Extension: Students write 3 “Geometry Squared” questions of their own and trade with a partner.
